Red face

Search F-150 gasoline engine spark plugs.... Get some double platinum plugs from a parts store, tell them its for a Ford.. They say You'll feel the difference with the plat. plugs 'cause of the direct connection of the cop's! (coil over plug) Pull the tabs on the front bottom off the coil wire to pull the boot out under the fuel rail. My plugs came out easy after 122,000 mi.!Put some oil or wd-40 or atf on the threads...some dielectric grease on the white part of the plug to seal the boot! Be sure to thread the plugs in by hand! to start the (aluminum) threads! Tighten to 11! lbs. torque. Hand tight with a stubby ratchet! I'm a little disabled so I push a little with my other hand! I got cut an the universal swivel so wear gloves some of the time. Take Your time 'cause its soo worth it! Get a 3" 6" and maybe another extention with the swivel and the 5" or so Ford sparkplug socket!
Aloha

Front pass. tire getting chewed up

Ok here it is, I have a 2002 F350 7.3L Diesel 4x4 duelie. I was having major scuffing and shuffling issues with the front end last year and replaced the front diff. lube. Worked great after i got the clutches to release each other. Then about 6 months after that i noticed the front tires were showing extreme (for lack of anything better ill call it 'Dishing") dishing wear on the outside tread and there was a violent shudder when appling the breaks. (i dont drive the truck as much as the others in the familly who happen to be deaf, dumb, and blind >.>) No one had said anything about it too me so we wound up replaceing rotors and top and bottom ball joints on that trip to the shop...yes yes pads too.
Now here is my current situation. The Pass side front tire is showing the odd "Dishing" wear again, we rotated out with a rear and 3 weeks later, there it is again. To go along with this there is a high frequency shudder showing up at 35 then at 55 then at 75mph with smoth sailing in between those speeds. Also when at any steady speed above 35 mph i can let of the gas and reapply with a fairly load thump from the front end( im assuming the front drive train is having to catch back up?) Also i should metion the vibration isnt just tran, itting through the steering wheel its like "Magic Fingers" massage bumper to bumper. Feel free to get clarifacation any anything i have said through post or emails...pls help before my truck falls apart!

Another new guy

Just a quick hello. Enjoy the forum, it has already saved much money and frustration with an 02 explorer. The CEO has relented and the money is available for the purchase of a super duty and I am on the lookout. Look forward to joining the fray as an owner.
Thanks,
Eric

Hi, I'm Chuck. Just picked up my 3rd Ford truck, a 1996 F250 extended cab longbed, 460, ZF-5, 4wd and 107K. I just got rid of my 2002 Ranger FX4, had a little bit of stuff done to that, and prior to that I had a 1993 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer, 351 and had 257K on it when the transmission went out.

Oh, I'm from Colorado, know a few of the Colorado folks on here, and decided after 4 years of owning Ford trucks, I should probably join up at FTE.

2004 F-250 Tranny Quit

I'm a new user on the Forum. I joined to get some answers : I recently had a 90k service done where they flushed and filled all fluids as well as other non-related tasks. I suspect they Power Flushed my tranny ( admittedly did NOT drop pan) The tranny had no previous nor current problems. Within 300 miles of this "service" the tranny was trashed. I am going after the Dealership which performed the service. Are they any users here with similar experience/recommedations ?
