Yep, I'm 48 and finally have two things I have always wanted in a single package. A full size truck and a 4x4. I have always had cars and two small trucks. Weird because all of my adult life I have been a powerlifter and 300+ pounds. Strange, no doubt, to see me wedging myself in and out. Got hurt at 42 and gave up competitive lifting but am still a fairly large guy. Spent the last six years into guns and reloading.

Today I bought myself a truck. I consider it a REAL truck. I am VERY happy! It did not cost a lot which works out well since I don't have a lot.

Here it is. . . 2001 F 150 XLT ext. cab, 5 inch body lift, 33" tires, etc. cool to me. Nice to be here:

Check out this beauty I picked up for $400!! Needed A LOT of upper end work but overall worth the pain. I have a total of $1900 invested so far and it now runs great. First Ford 150 series.

Hello!

I'm Matt and I'm from Seattle, but now live in North Dakota border country.

I've been here before but this time around was unable to find my old account. I suppose its a good time to restart anyway.

I mostly always have parts questions, asking the community for their reviews of stuff on my watch list.

And right after this post I'll be posting such a question. Thanks for being the best source of information on Ford trucks!

Matt

I got me another truck today. This one 90 f250. 7.3. (Jaspser replacement) lwb, 2wd, srw, extend cab, xlt Larie. I got it for almost nothing swapped tires on a motorhome that am getting rid of. Just got to find 6. 22.5 tires cheap. First thing I get to do is replace the adapter plate for the starter. Somebod decided notto tighten the top bolt. Already found one on ebay for 49+ 20 for shipping.

My other trucks I have had : 1973 F 100 dad bought new; 1975 3/4 extended cab. 1976 f150. 300 put the hd 4 speed and one ton springs. Gas mileage sucked but could pull anything; 2004 ranger extend cab hated it whwn I totaled it; 1995 f150

1990 f250 extended cab 7.3 idi

Just joined and signing it. Nice to meet everyone.

After a hard Michigan winter last year and pushing snow with a quad I decided to purchase a used 2011 F250 with a 6.7 Ls Diesel. I recently had a Boss V plow installed and now have a machine to move some snow. I work on my own equipment whenever possible and always utilizing Google to research a job before I start. I will help where I can but normally chasing information. Thanks in advance for whatever help you can assist.

New member from Oklahoma...1976 Ford F-150, with a very thirsty 460!

Hello! I'm the (somewhat) proud new owner of a 1976 Ford F-150. I've had it a few weeks. It has the 460 motor and XLT trim. My plans are just to use it as a weekend warrior and maybe drive it to work a few days a week. I really need it to haul a bunch of motorcycles around (My other hobby) Mileage after the first tank was only 6 -7 mpg's so it will not be going far. Previous owner, bless his heart, really hacked some things up.(Heater/AC, dash wiring, some terrible body work). I'm currently trying to replace the heater core and figure out why the heater is not working. Half of the evaporator cover was removed, most of the stuff under the dash is either loose or missing. Its been a challenge to figure what is what and what goes where.

So far: I've installed new duals, (sure helped it run and sound better) replaced the plugs and installed a new coil. The timing was way way off so that got fixed. It has an aftermarket Edelbrock but it appears to me to be too small. It starts up pretty good and starts when hot. (Which is something it did not do when I bought it)

Current plans are to get the heater working. It has factory AC, which doesn't work. But that will have to wait until the spring. It has an aux. tank that is functioning as the main tank. The previous owner unhooked the main tank, which will need to be replaced. Emergency brake is not working. Only the speedo works on the dash, the other 4 gauges do not work.

It just needs to be driven and have more and more things checked off the very long to do list. I'm not a real experienced mechanic so these forums are very helpful.
