Newbie intro!
Hey y'all!
My name is Scott, and I guess you could say I'm hooked on Ford trucks since I've had four over the years. My first was a '76 F150 (390 C4), followed by a cute li'l '88 Ranger (4cyl 5spd, mainly to **** off the ex), then came Buck my '79 F100 (300in 6, 3spd column shift...). My current beast is Ol' Blue, a '74 F250 (360 C6, Dana 60) that I bought while living up in Montana. Two months ago we hitched up a 6x12 UHaul and headed back to FL....2800 miles without missing a beat (though he didn't miss many gas stations ), average speed of 60mph.
They've always been built Ford tough!

Hey, everybody. I've been here a while but I don't think I've ever posted; figured it was about time.
I have a 2012 F-250 6.2 L, leveled with F-350 blocks on the rear, so basically a F-250 with a 2" lift. I'm running 35" Nitto terra grapplers on 19" Black Rhino rims.
Before this beast, I had a 2000 F-350 V10 (don't remember the displacement) and before that a 94' F-150 5.2 (I think, it was the bigger one, not the 5.0)
I'm loving the Heck out of this thing. I am, however, new to pulling so I have nothing to compare to. I just got a 28' Keystone ultra light (don't know the weight) and am curious whether I need to do any power adjustments, i.e. supercharger, chip, cold air intake, etc... It seems to do pretty well for the most part but my regular driving with the trailer, there are a few places that are pretty steep hill climbing at freeway speeds (65 to 70 mph). At one point, starting from a complete stop, I climbed to 50 mph while it wanted to stay in 2nd; I was starting to get a little nervous and then it finally SLAMMED into 3rd. I thought someone had rearended me. No damage that I know of and it's been great ever since but it scared me pretty bad. My brother told me that the load may have stuck it into second and it had to force itself out and that it wasn't good for it but it should be okay.
Right now, I'm just wondering if anyone has felt like they've needed more power than the 2012 6.2 is putting out. I love it but it does work pretty hard to maintain 55 to 60 mph on some of those hills; is this normal?

I've been lurking for a couple of years now and have found lots of useful information. Finally decided to sign up. Having transmission problems with my 99 f350 7.3l and have been reading up on that. I want to be informed as possible when I take it in to have it checked out and am getting lots of info on here.

New to Site, New to Trucks
I am Igor. I always wanted an old Ford Pick Up. Well last week got one. Here's some photos of my 49 F-1 before it went in for some body work and paint.:

starting here....
HI all -
I've been a lurker for awhile....it's been a long time for me to finally get my SD. I finally found my way into one that I could afford with 2 teens on the road and 5 vehicles to insure, haha.
lets see if the pic thing works - the day I bought it:
it was stock and a Colorado. hwy dept work truck.
It's a 2003 5.4L - plenty for my life.
I lifted it, put in a stereo (it was broken)
put on a roll up bed cover (the bed is beat to all kinds of crap)
and put on 315/75 16's. (I like fat tires...I've always had rock crawlers)
a couple of plastic tubs anchored by the tailgate and 400 pounds worth of gravel rock bags in them
REALLY help the ride of the truck when I don't have a trailer on it.
mechanically my local shop checked it top to bottom - I put in a new drive belt and some other minor things...it's tight and drives right.
170,000+miles and it feels like it's got 2x that left in it.
I've wanted a big, white, lifted, SD truck for probably 2 decades....I feel really lucky to have mine. It's got some battle scars...but that's ok...so do I!
this is with the lift - I gotta get better pics:

Hey all, new member here. I'm getting ready to look at buying my first truck F250 6.7L and have been checking around and researching the site as well as others on what to look for and which truck is best suited for me.
Always been a Ford guy, and even own a 2004 Mach1 Mustang still. I'm young, 23, but am getting ready for some Law Enforcement possibilities with CBP. Anyhow, I am looking at getting a 6.7L quad cab (4 door) and regular sized bed, not a shorty, F250 Lariat.
Is there anything I should really be looking for on slightly used models? Or is it just better to see how the new trucks will unfold after trying to get some incentives and rebates? I do plan on keeping the truck for years down the road as well and want it as a daily driver and capable of towing a full car trailer with my Mach and pretty much all my moving supplies when I head out West. I also want something that I can take off roading (not BAJA blasting yet as I know suspension upgrades are a necessity), but be comfortable in. Also what can I do to the truck that won't void warranty? Just an after catalytic exhaust and ram air intake?
I guess I'm just looking for some pointers when I go looking for trucks and am wanting to do more research on when is the best time to buy.
