This is my first post here, so here's a bit of background. I bought my first new 2WD F-150 in 1975 while stationed in Argentia, Newfoundland. Then ordered my first new 4WD in 1976, also an F-150. I currently own a 2009 F-150 Super Crew Platinum 4X4 and recently acquired a 1979 F-250 SuperCab 4X4 with 8' bed to restore as an everyday driver and farm truck.
Since retiring from the Navy I settled back home here in northwest Arkansas.

Just bought my second Ford, first diesel, yesterday
Picked up a new (old stock) 2012 Ford F250 XLT Super Duty SRW 6.7L in Ingot Silver. Crew cab, 4x4, and she is BONE stock and will probably remain so for a while. Minus some needed things such as a spray-in bedliner.

Welcome! And I'm Jealous!
Those 6.7's are beastly!

Thank you! Never thought I would be rocking a new diesel. Ever. It is a bad mother, loving it so far.
Side note: First Ford, is a 68 F100 Standard Cab, full length bed rocking a freshly built 390FE and built C6 trans.
This is how she sits in the garage currently awaiting a new Painless wiring harness and 1 piece driveshaft.

Hello all, long time lurker but just registered. Currently have a 2000 f150 5.4L 4x4 with offroad and towing packages. Looking at getting a 2003 f250 with the 7.3 right now. I'm good with gas vehicles but first foray into diesel. Been wanting one forever just the timing wasn't right. Something about that sound and torque

Hey guys, I'm new here, this seems like the thread for intro's.
So,
I live in the Northeast Kingdom (NEK) of Vermont, a beautiful place but full of roadsalt in the winter.... I recently graduated college (studied forestry) and I got a seasonal job cruising timber, which is inventorying trees. The project I'll be working on is 145,000 acres in Pittburg NH (Look it up, nothing around it but Canada and Maine) Anyways, the company wants me to have a 4WD vehicle. My family has owned different makes of vehicles over the years, as have I, but we have always owned Ford trucks. So naturally, I'm looking for a F series. Was considering a nice pre owned F150, but full coverage insurance for my age bracket, 22 year old male, is unreal. That plus a payment make newer unfeasible for me. So I'm looking for an older, cheaper truck so I can just put liability coverage on it. I'm drawn towards the 70's era fords, I've loved the looks of those trucks since I was little, plus I figure they'd be easier to work on than a EFI computer controlled rig. Looked at a 77 with a "built" 460 and a 4 speed the other day. Frame was solid, but he couldn't get it started for me! Passed on that one. Now I'm looking at a 1976 (I think, not totally sure on the year) F250, 390 V8, 4 speed. Truck seemed to run good, the brakes worried me a bit. Body is reasonably solid for the year, there's a few rust holes but the metal is pretty solid around it. Plus it's got an inspection sticker and the price is pretty good I'm gonna go back with a friend of mine who knows older carb'd vehicles better than I. If it checks out with him, I'll be bringing it home tomorrow or Friday. Pictures will follow, don't worry

Hi...new to the site. Been lurking some in the past to glean information on Excursions and the 7.3 Powerstroke. Well after 16 years I'm parting with my truck, a 1994 Ford C350 Centurion loaded with most options. Currently has 118,600 miles on it. Been a great rig. Just loves gas too much.
Decided to upgrade to a 2002 Ford Excursion Limited, with a 7.3 Powerstroke with 126,070 miles on it. Two tone interior, with four captains.
Was going to buy a smaller crossover for trips since the wife is retiring which makes us both retired. Centurion was my hunting rig and did light duty pulling my 22' North River Commander. After seeing the milage one gets in a crossover such as a Cadillac SRX or Buick Enclave...22mph highway, I thought why not eliminate a vehicle and get an Excursion with a 7.3. They get 16-20+ depending highway and far more comfortable. Not that much difference, and I like big to travel in. Still take it hunting and pull my boat on the side.
May be able to actually get the X in the garage. For what it's worth in the world's largest SUV discussion....my Centurion is slightly larger.
So looking forward to learning and participating here.......
