NEW MEMBER Introduction Thread (NO TECH QUESTIONS)
FFJohn,
Mudding is NOT my thing at all, thus I have ZERO info on that subject.
(I'm a restoration "NUT" about old M-B & Ford diesels. = Fwiw, my latest acquisition is a 1990 F250 CUSTOM 7.3 NA Super-cab PU, with 5-speed ZF and with only 190,000 original miles, that I bought from a www.oilburners.com forum member.= NICE truck in "pretty much original" condition, that I plan to return to factory stock. - The restoration will mainly be "sheet-metal" repair & a complete re-painting in DESERT TAN.)
I'm also about to buy a 1985 M-B 300D "Euro-model" with manual transmission & cloth seats, with 124,000 one-owner miles.
Btw, I now live in 78208, off of Broadway on East Grayson Street.
yours, satx

I just trying to find out what my new rig will do, had to borrow a buddies f250 to get all my welding gear into a hunting camp this summer after all the flooding. the Jeep would not have gotten all my equipment through that mess. Sounds like I may be picking your brain in the future.

FFJohn,
Fwiw, the old NA diesels "will pull a house" but they aren't fast on the road. = Mine is 2WD with 3.55 gears. = It gets about 22MPG on the Interstate at 75MPH & 17-18 around town.
(Fyi, my old 1991 F250 diesel with AT once made 5 trips to/from Alexandria, VA to Garrettstown, WV loaded with over 3,000 pounds of cargo. = Never missed a lick up & down the WV mountains, either. - I did get "blessed out" by the WV DoT Weights & Measure State Troopers for being "overweight".)
The old IDI trucks are nothing but TOUGH.

New member from central SC here. I've got a 2007 Expedition EL XLT with 197,xxx miles on it and it's starting to wear out. The wife finally gave me her blessing to begin working on it myself, after all these years of paying a shop. I am a disabled OIF/OEF vet struggling with chronic, severe PTSD and major recurring depression. I also build furniture and home decor items from pallet wood as a therapeutic hobby.
Hello to all
Hows everyone doing today? Craig here aka whitelightning and all is well at the moment for me. I have been in and out of the body/mechanic shops all my life and just enjoy working with my hands. Bought my first Ford in 2011 and came home with a new FX 4 5.O liter. My wife just recently made the transition and now the proud owner of a limited Explorer. Well, if I can be of any assistance please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks -Craig
