97 Torsion Bar

I have a 97 F150 Lariat with 200,000 miles. Still runs and looks great, but the right torsion bar snapped in two and I'm having a hell of a time finding a replacement. The spring code on the door tag is UD. This is obsolete from Ford, so just wondering if ANY of the other torsion bar spring codes will work as they all have the same part number, just different codes.

1997 F-250 HD New Owner

I wanted to introduce myself, and my soon to be 1997 F-250 HD.
It's a California truck, and am purchasing from my sister as she just got a new one.
It's white and has 64,000 miles on her. Purchased for $2,000, and having it shipped home to Ballston Spa, NY in a week or so. Just could not wait to start researching specs and etc., so I've stumbled across your site....pictures surely to follow shortly.
Best regards, Kris

Hi All,
Recently bought a 99 f-250 4x4 6.8 liter, I was not looking for a ford much less an older 4x4 with 8" lift in front and 6" in the rear. I looked at a lot of trucks before I found this one. Of all the other trucks this was the first one I drove, it impressed me so much I ended up buying with wife's approval of course.

I will get picture posted soon, Have a great day all. Mnconstr

My first day. A bit overwhelming but I’ll get it.
Registered because of major electrical problems in my 2002 F-250 V10.
Local Ford outfit has so far provided very little help.
Hope I find some here with you guys. J

Don’t know much about your part but I do know Spaldings ( 509 924 3300) in Spokane are dynamite in locating odd components. Also when they don’t have it in inventory, they know who will. But you must ask them. Be sure you have some measurements or other identifiers.
Good luck

Not a Ford Truck Owner just yet but I am looking for one. I have built several trucks in the past and this will be my first Ford truck. I have always wanted a 73-79 truck and as tall as I am I will need the Super cab. I am on the hunt for one now. I have owned several Ford cars. I am ready for a truck again.

If you cant find the truck you want, Build the truck you want. 73-79 Super cab with a 76ish grill, color to be determined but looking at Blue/Tan Combo or a Green color. I want descent mileage so will be a small block or a diesel, still researching diesel motors. Still not sure if I want an automatic or standard transmission, two wheel drive but will settle for a 4 wheel drive, I have owned many 4 wheels drive trucks.

I have done frame off restores, rebuilt motors, paint and body work and am well rounded out in what needs to be done for what I want. Just need to find a good project truck and make it what I want. Looking forward to being a part of the community.

One I am hoping to buy

Don’t have any idea where you are located but Western Canada (Alberta) is an excellent place for great truck deals. The dollar spread (30 cents on the dollar) is enormous and the oil field workers are still dumping their trucks. Just a thought. J

Just joined

Hi, I got an '82 F-150 in Nov., and I've been lurking here for a few months. Eventually I'm going to to restore it to like new, but for now I'm just trying to keep anything from getting worse and to keep it drivable. '82 (so carbureted), 300c.i. inline 6, 4x2, reg. cab, long bed, with 4 speed manual (T-18). I should mention, I can hardly do any work myself for the near future because I'm stuck with on street parking and no obliging driveway. (At my age nobody can afford to buy a house in the area I live.) So you'll hear me mentioning "my mechanic." I've seen a lot of really useful info. here--maybe I'll become a regular on this site.

3rd Row Seat Automatic 2012 limited Explorere

Does anyone know if there is a manual override to lower the seats? My connection to the motor broke and does not stay together and for now I simply want the seat folded flat. It is only the left seat near controls. It goes back to a certain point and stops. I can go to a dealer but I'm trying to avoid a potentially costly fix that was self induced in the short run

Thanks...

A little clarification

I live in eastern Mass., which is one of the worst areas for real estate prices in the country. Many people can't afford to have their own garage or driveway until they've been working more than ten years. I hoping I can work out an arrangement with someone to use their property to work on my truck.
