Looking at buying my first diesel!

Hi guys, looking at buying my first diesel. I have been doing a lot of research and I am going to check out an 05 f250 with the 6.0. I don't haul much but do a lot of highway driving so I'm looking for something I can put a ton of miles on. I currently drive about 70 miles a day and long trips all over texas and oklahoma on weekends. Eventually we will be getting 20 ft ski boat that I will pull on weekends. I'm thinking as long as I keep up on maintenance it should be a good fit. I'll make another thread with the truck I'm looking at buying.

Hello!
I'm miss jane from SC. I have a '93 Ranger XLT that is no longer my primary mode of trans. Currently I drive a 2007 Taurus SLE (not a sedan girl but I got it for 4K w/ 60,000 mi. when it was 3 years old). The truck was really getting some miles on it and I had to drive about 100 miles 7-10 times a year alone and rlly no one to call for help!
This truck is like a body part to me (that is a long story). I'm sort of lost on here but hope to figure things out soon!

Hey FTE, im new here i own a 77 f100 stepside that i was given by my great grandfather who passed when i was 15. When i started driving it when i was 18, a tuneup was all it needed. The body was just short of great, and it ran til my my old c4 needed an overhaul a year and a half later (i ran her hard.) After the rebuild, which took her off the road 4 mos., i started having overheating issues. I looked and found no answer and later my block cracked from me cycling blue jugs and water through her and letting the pressure off with my ever so handy pressure release cap. Since i have been tearing piece after piece off of her, researching everything 73-79 f series related, and taking a lot of hands on training from various places regarding automotive mechanics in general. Im looking to modernize and rebuild her resonably, affordably, and beautifully. I am willing to take the time, big red belongs in my family so she holds more value than the money it'll take to make it happen. Im here to learn and continue my research and hopefully find a few parts while im at it thanks for reading, and much love, Terrence

Hello FTE,

I recently joined the Ford family with the purchase of a 2004 F250 Crew Cab diesel 4x4 with 135k miles. I've been trolling the FTE forum for awhile and enjoy the information posted.

diesel newbie 1986 f250 4x4 6.9l

Andy From Jeffersonville, IN 47130.

I just bought a 1986 f250 4x4 with a 6.9l diesel engine. I am clueless about diesel engines but always wanted a diesel truck and this one was affordable.

Hello all!:) I have a 1979 F-250 4x4

I'm a newb didnt see this was for super duty's...my bad !

Hello all happy to join in finally
I've been reading the forums for 10 years!
That's how long I've had my
F-250 custom Reg cab Long box 4x4.
With a 400 modified under the hood.
I got a smoking deal on it when I was younger and now its finally time to restore it and bring it back to life !
I love this truck and have already changed the box, doors & fenders
Their wasn't much left of them from rust..
Anyway im excited and nervous to do the restoration but I'm very confident in this forum and my skills!
Time to make this F-250 shine again with your help !
Great forum ! Keep up the good work!
Can't wait to start my project!
Cheers, Kevin

Hey guys...Not really a new user, but never did an intro. I used to have an 01 SD with the 7.3. Just picked up an 05 KR 6.0 about a month ago. Already gained much information from this site on what to look for and how to fix little things. Thanks for the already valuable advice, and much more to come. Hopefully I can contribute something in times to come.

Hey all. Just got around to joining after lurking around for over a year. Just recently bought a 2011 F350 SRW, 6.2, 4x4 w/locker, and a fab fours full front bumper. Sold the old-ish '01 Dodge 1500 to go for something (obviously) heavier, mostly just for hauling wood and coal for our outdoor furnace.

Good Day to all, New to the forum but not to Ford as I have driven them all my life. Currently doing a frame off restoration to a 1979 f150 4X4 long bed.
Hope to find some good common sense solutions to the many issues that have come up.
Thanks.
