NEW MEMBER Introduction Thread (NO TECH QUESTIONS)
Hello from north of the border (Ontario). After dabbling in cars for the longest time I have acquired a new project, a 1956 Ford F100 shortbox (small back window). The powerplant will be a 292 Y block (vintage 1957). I'm going to need a lot of help on this one.....

Back to the Blue Oval.
Just joined the FTE site. I recently purchased a 2004 F-250 with the 5.4, 4R100 auto trans, extended cab with 8 ft. bed. mleage is 89,000. I've owned a 1993 F-150, 1998 F-150, a 2006 F-250 plus a F-100 Econoline conversion van. Four years ago I took a chance on a 2008 GMC Sierra. I'm back to the Blue Oval - FOR GOOD..
hello
Hi--I own a 1986 Ford F-150 that has seen better days but is still up and running! I've got a used engine in it and recently installed a new brake master cylinder and slave cylinders. I'm a Ford and VW man and have worked on both for years. My baby was a 1965 Mustang but I had to sell it a few years ago to pay bills, but maybe one day I'll get another! I also like the Ranger truck and hope to have one of those some day too for the convenience and gas mileage of a run around. I hope to get to know some people!

Hello FTE Folks!
I joined FTE today because I want to buy a 1951 F8 dump truck, but I need help. The only Ford truck I have owned was a 1984 F150... in 1988. I have restored three 1960's Mustangs, but no trucks.
Here is the truck I am thinking of buying:
It didn't take long to figure out that this is a different ballgame than restoring a Mustang. Much harder to find parts, for one thing. I already know that the master cylinder and/or brake booster needs to be replaced, because it consumes brake fluid. And the guy told me that some of the brake drums have "hairline cracks". I think they should be replaced too. The question is, can I get these parts anywhere? If not, is there another option?
I would also really appreciate the knowledgeable people's opinions on what this F8 might be worth.
Thanks for any help you can give me... I need it!

I just joined because I am driving to Virginia this weekend to pick up my "new" 1985 F-150 XLT Lariat (5.0L Auto 4x2). I am excited to see such incredible enthusiasm and collective knowledge about Ford trucks. This is my first Ford truck so I expect to make good use of the forum.
