Hi! Thanks for having me.

Hi guys, my name's Dave, thought i'd join as there's such a wealth of information that a lot of you hold, and maybe there's someone on here that'll appreciate my efforts towards building a half decent pick up here in Brisbane, Australia.

Basically I've got my hands on a 1976 F100 4x4 has a cleveland motor in it, not sure if it's 302 or a 351 as yet, been too caught up on body work and interior.

But, the old girl is getting a coat of black paint, and the grille shell, bullbar, wheels, side steps, rear step and roll bar are getting a hammertone charcoal grey.

Interior is getting sound deadening throughout, and some mass loaded vinyl on all sides too, new black carpet, painted steel section of dash hammertone charcoal grey as well, new dash panels i'm making myself from mdf sealed and painted gloss black, i'm rebuilding the instrument cluster, making new dial faces with uv reactive cardstock and uv reactive paint, with the browning buck emblem watermarked in the background of the outside dials, all lit up from the front rather than the rear with UV led strips with a tinted lens over the top.

I'd like to put a 4" lift in and end up on 37" tyres.

Work in progress and I'd sure love to share my progress with like minded people. I'm sure that what i'm doing won't be everyones cup of tea but From what I've seen there are a lot of people who are happy to lend advice and appreciate other peoples ideas and work.

Thanks for reading my long winded introduction! Sure keen to get to know you all soon.

My old Ranger is still ticking, but won't go.

I am the proud owner of a '96 Ford Ranger with less than 75,000 miles. For real! I got it from a local city, where it was used by the building inspectors. The city is only 2.7 square miles, so it didn't get many miles - it was showing 33,000 when I got it. It does have lots of hours, though. The city installed an hour meter under the hood for scheduling oil changes, and it shows about 12,000 hours.
When I got it, I had to put new shocks on it - easy to do. And I have had the auto-tranny rebuilt. Other than that it starts quickly, runs great, and rides very smooth.
My wife thinks I should replace the shredded headliner, but this is MY truck. She also thinks I should wash it every week. I wash it a couple times a year when it is raining so it gets a spot-free rinse, and that's plenty for a man-truck!

Yesterday I went to get in it and run out to the farm. There was a crunching in the steering column and it would not shift out of PARK. I guess I've got a rough day of exploring the steering column, which is NOT something I look forward to. However, it comes with owning a tough old truck.

Hello to all

New member here. Just wanting to say hey from Ky.
I have a 1978 Ford Ranger/Explorer. I have thought about restoring but don't quite know if I want to tackle or not. It has been in the family since new but has changed hands a couple of times through the years and has been sitting for several years. It is showing just over 90,000 miles on the odometer and has a straight six with a three speed on the column. The interior is in need of restoration, the rust can be dealt with in the body and interior... Actually it can be made into a nice truck. I've seen a lot worse.
Basically I am just looking at trucks on this site to see how many of them are around and get a handle on the rarity of them.

The dash pad on my 1997 F350 (old style) is cracked and I would like to replace it. Any suggestions on where I can purchase a replacement. It does not seem Ford is selling it and I have not been able to find a source for an after market one for this model?

I'm new here. I'm a Chevy or Mopar guy but the Ford trucks fit me better. I've had a 71 f 100 302 3 on the tree and 79 F150 4x4 400m 4 speed. Loved both of those trucks. Bunch of square body Ltd and crown Vic's the last was a 88 with a 5.0 that was free with 136k. Bought a 94 El 50 conversion van with a 5.0 and was just given a 85 F150 extended cab 2wd long box with topper, stainless visor, running boards, new stereo and speakers, 4 brand new 31/10.50/15 tires, C6 and a 351w HO. It's got 94k on it and a 9 inch posie with 300 gears and a box with a set of 3.50's. I thought it should have had a 8.8 but don't know. I've been lurking here for a while gleaning info lol. Thought it was time to join. Looks like i might have a new job but it's a 90 mile round trip a day and i want to get this F150 ready for the job and use the vic for a back up. Almost forgot name is brian from west michigan

Hi guys! I just discovered this Forum today. I have owned quite a few Fords over the years, from my Grandma's '65 Fairlane 500 (my first car), 5 Mustangs, an '86 F-150, and my current two - a '79 Mustang Pace Car and an '89 Bronco II - to hopefully my Dad's old '61 F-350 in the near future.

Anyway, anybody with advice for me about that F-350 dually farm truck with the inline 6 and 17.5 wheels, I'm listening! The indestructible little 223 6 turns over despite not having been driven for probably 4 or 5 years, so I don't think it will be too terrible tough to get her going.

Hello Ford guys. I figured I'd join as I've been searching the forum for info on high mileage 6.2L gas motors. I found that I probably have higher mileage than almost anyone on the forum.?.?.? I have a 2011 F-250 Super Duty, SC, 4X4, 6.2L, with 209,000 miles. It's been fantastic. Just changed the plugs and wires for the fist time ever....not because it needed it, but because I figured it would be needing it soon and I didn't want to have to do that in the middle of winter. The truck drives like new yet. Never needed any front end work either....amazing. I'd have replaced 4 front ends in a Dodge by now and needed dental work on my teeth from the rough ride

I think Ford has a good motor in the 6.2L based on the ton of miles I have without issues. Was thinking of replacing the truck this Fall, but almost want to keep it and see how many miles I rack up till a major failure.
