Hey all. New to the site. Got here looking at rear brake caliper info for my '11 F150 SuperCrew 4x2. Not the first Ford I've owned, but the first Ford truck. I usually do most of my own maintenance because, well, I was raised to not pay anyone to do something you're capable of doing yourself. That said, the newer engines are new to me, so I may be spending a bit of time here.

I've been on here sporadically for a while. First when I had...you guessed it, a big orange 1977 F100. Ended up selling the truck but just bought a 2000 F250 SD 4x4 quad cab 5.4. It's got a 6" lift and apparently a tendency to roll down hills while in park, lol. This forum was very helpful before and I'm sure it will be again!

F500 new owner

Hi
I just registered on the forum and this is an introduction
I recently purchased a well used F500 truck assuming its a early 1960 model
Intend retaining the existing patina of the vehicle, although need to repair the bottom part of the two doors, repair the bench seats and upholster them, stop further rust, and source a few bits i.e. Side steps, door windows and regulators, cubbie-hole and a few brackets.
It has the straight six ford engine in good condition but I need to sort out the carb and fuel pump, service and change oils etc
Here's a few pics before it was delivered.

Hi folks. Just joined up.
Just spent the last three days straight on the Net trying to find my first f350 7.3.

I guess it hasn't taken much to convince me to import one from the USofA rather than choose from a handful in the UK. Problem is now, of course, that there are TOO MANY to choose from.

Hope you can help me out with any advice which would make the task more simple. I have a budget of around USD$15,000. I can feel a trip to the US about to happen as I have no contacts over there. Also looking for clues about using shipping agents.

Thanks in advance
Mel

Hey, I'm new to this sight but am a Ford Man. I've got an '01 F250, an '04 F150 FX4, and a '10 F150. But my new baby is a '64 F100 step side. I'm stoked about the potential for this truck. It sets nice but needs the frame notched above the rear dif. Its got a 230 six cylinder with a 3 speed. Runs great and drives good, sort of takes me back to my childhood. Anyway, I hope to get some good advice about tricking this truck out. I do my own fab. work and paint. I've built several Harleys in my day and a couple of trucks, but like I said, I'm stoked about this one. I also need to figure out how to post a pic my '64 on this sight.

Old reliable has longtime problem

Hello everybody, I have a 1990 F350 7.3L IDI. I'm joining this forum to share experience and gain knowledge--get opinions, expertise, input, etc..

This truck has been a workhorse over the years and I like the fact that it can be easily maintained and worked on (for the most part). It has two new fuel tanks, new fuel lines, new radiator , clutch fan, tires, brakes, batteries and wiring, injector seals, glow plugs, wiring, the list goes on. Use has tapered off over the years but I'd like to keep her going and also invest in making cosmetic improvements and adding a turbo kit.

BUT!--there has been a longtime problem. The fuel return flapper valve on the fuel filter housing keeps blowing out. It will run like a top, then the valve blows out--the fuel drains and then it takes a lot of cranking to prime it back up--hard on starters, batteries and drivers. Replace the little valve and it runs and starts like a champ--for a little while. No biodiesel, just the regular stuff from big oil companies.

It has been suggested to replace my fuel filter housing with one from a 92-94 as they use a spring and ball instead of rubber flapper--any ideas?

Hello everyone,

I'm a long time Toyota and BMW fan, but sick of Toyota's rust so started to look for Ford truck. I found and bought a mint 05 F150 Lariat 2WD Super crew with only 65K miles.
I'm loving this truck as it showed. I have sunk in about $2500 in upgrade so far and there's no end in sight.

- Edge Evolution programmer
- Mag Hytec diff cover
- LPW Performance autotran's pan
- 2010 f150 E-fan and Painless controller
- New Radiator
- Weather-Tech mud flaps
- Huskies floor mats

Looking forward to be here and be part of a great community.

Hi Everyone, OK, I made the jump, pulled the trigger. First diesel, replacing the old 89' Chev gasser. I bought a 2006 F250 ext. cab long box with 55k for $19k from aprivate party, cherry clean. I hope to survive the 6.0l woos with good prevent maintenance. I have a 25' fifth wheel RV(8,000#) to pull a half dozen times a year and the rest will be empty traveling the state of Oregon seeing my big rig truck customers. Any advise is always appreciated.

Battery drain

Hey everybody I'm new to the site and have been reading your forum. You have helped me fix my problem and I wanted to share. I've been looking for an intermittent battery drain problem for close to a year. I went through 3 batteries and 2 alternators. I think I finally found the problem. If anyone else is having this issue I might be able to save you some time.

So what was it? Was it the blower resistor pack?
