rims and tire fit

Ok now that I know what my options are as far as lifting my truck, can I fit 37x12.50 tires on 16x10 american eagle 589 rims or even 38's. How is this determined.

Not the most mechanically inclined

rims and tire fit

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-Dec-02 AT 11:27 PM (EST)]37x12.5R16 any other tire that is designed or a 16" will fit on your 16"x10" rims. The rim size is specified by the 16 at the end of 37x12.5R16. 37 is the height, 12.5 the section width, R denotes it is a radial tire, and 16 is the rim size. so 38x12.5R16 and 38x15.5R16 will fit your rim. Some tire mfg recommend a wider rim for the 38x15.5 but they can be mounted on 16x10 rims. Hope this clears some things up.
