I'm here at least once a week to see whats going on down my way (NOT a whole lot!) But still hopeful. Maybe sometime early Spring we can all get together somewhere for a weekend of fun wheeling! What do you all think? Not sure where the best wheeling spots in Ohio are, But maybe create a post for this topic??

I am from south east Ohio, on the river next to West Virginia. about 45 minutes north of the Ohio, W.Va, KY boarders. Gallia county.
And getting ready for a 1 ton axle swap under my 79 Bronco this winter. A few other upgrades are also planned depending on funds of course!

Larry here. North Canton, Ohio. I usually lurk in FTE daily, not always down here though. Got a 69 and 67 F100's

Always hoped to have some kind of get together, but we just can't seem to pull it off.

Larry, is there any idea's you would care to share that could help with this ?

I know you have been around awhile and a good supporter of this chapter, which is why I am ask you this.

I will say this gas prices did play a role in this issue, but how can we make smaller G2g's work ?

Well Ray.....

I've always tried to make sure my racing schedule is posted around to let everyone know so that "IF" someone wanted to meet up at a track that it was possible. Last couple years the group I run with has been traveling around Ohio, so it's possible to meet up with people other words was not possible due to fuel prices. Our group puts on a pretty neat show, so it would be entertaining for the group to watch and it's pretty cheap to run in the street classes at most tracks, so you could even run your truck if you wanted to. You've seen my trailer, so you know I've got a decent meet'n place to hang out at. Anyway...it's a bit late now but maybe next year?

The Summit truck thing would have been a nice thing, but like usual the weather didn't hold out. I had plans to run to PA in the Mack for a truck show over there that day anway, but ended up staying home. If I recall the last time we did get together was in Hebron, Ohio at the ATHS truck show. That was a quite a few years ago now(geez). Sadly I haven't made that show in a couple years myself due to diesel prices. It used to be $30, now it's $120 for a day trip. I have been budgeting my fuel for racing so these types of shows have had to bumped. I do miss them.

Maybe next summer, if the fuel prices stay more inline with things it will be easier for guys/gals to go and play more. I know there is already talk of abbreviating our race schedule to less races to make it more affordable. We started at 7 races 2 yrs ago, had 11 last year(but 4 rainouts). I think they plan on around 7 again.

I check in occasionally but there usually isn't too much going on about the '53 to '56 F-100s I am interested in.

Later...
