Basically you need to remove everything from the engine (vacuum lines, electronic doo-dads, intake, exhaust, hoses, fan, etc...,) unbolt tranny, pull just the engine, replace with new engine, and hook everything back up. Nothing needs to come from the donor vehicle besides the engine.

And before I forget... Start soaking any exhaust parts that you plan on taking apart (manifold bolts especially) in penetrating oil right now since it sounds like you have a few days untill you actually pull the engine. Keep on soaking them every day. This could potentially save you a whole lot of hassle...

I'm in Central NC, and I'm keeping the engine...it'll probably be about a 2 year build into a 557. I prefer to keep the "original stuff" around and make it better.

Thanks for all the help guys, gonna go pick up the engine tonight, and get working on pullng/dropping everything in tomorrow. I'll probably have my bro-in-law (UTfball68) and his dad help me out...they seem to know a thing or two about Ford's.

I hear you. I am the same way. Doing just that to a '71 F-250.
