rear spring mount upgrade

I have a 1997 f250 powerstroke 4x4 reg cab, eight foot bed. I have a rusted out rear spring mount (on the rear of the spring). I have seen cast spring mounts on other trucks and was wondering if there is a compatible and better part to replace mine with.

wow where do you live? im in the rust belt and rusty body panels are common but something that heavy? both my 68 bronco and 89 f150 are still pretty good as far as the frame goes. in my experience building broncos i dont recall any new rear spring mounts. you may have to just find a junk one.

I am in NJ. The same thing happened to my 93 250 and I found new mounts at the ford dealer. I was really just wondering if anyone knew of a longer lasting mount like the newer cast iron ones that would bolt up. Thanks.

I had to replace the shackles on the rear springs of my 97 250HD.. they rusted out and the spring on one side almost went through the bed. My mounts were ok tho...

The trick is to drill a 1/2 inch hole in the low portion of the mount. The mounts are like a cup and collect water. Standing water, salt water if you live up north, leads to rust and subsequent failure. If you replace the mounts, just pop a hole in the new ones and you should be ok.
