Help to remove scratches

hey guys.. i cant look at the scratches on my truck any longer.. The scratches im talking about look like spider web strings layed on my hood and side panels.. they arent deep.. you cant even feel them with your finger nails.. But it REALLY shows up on my black paint..

so my question is.. how can i get rid of these spider web scratches and make my paint job look more true? products, techniques and anything else are of great help.

Mine came out w/a good waxing... I usually get those after a long day of 4x4ing, branches/limbs all like to play tag w/my paint.

Also another way to take care of the problem is to go play in the mud after you play in the woods...w/the mud all over the body you cant even see the paint, not to mention the spider scratches....problem solved LOL

Someone before has also mentioned that they have the colored wax, and that seems to help a lot. I would try that.

Yeah, a good wax is probably the best. For some of those annoying deeper ones, I have used jewelers rouge with a 'very' clean buffing pad. A little goes a long way.

I use liquid glass polish or a polish called liquid crystal it really hides the scratches and lasts for a long time and to prove it check out some of my pics in my gallery my paint is original except my fuel tank doors lol

i would start with a heavy rubbing compound work your way up to an polishing compound and then wax for some of the more subborn scraches you can wet sand with 2000 grt wet paper

You don't want to use too harsh of a compound because you sure as hell don't want to beyond the clear coat. Turtle wax makes a colored liquid wax that also has a color stick that resembles a lipstick tube that comes with the wax. This has worked for me on my truck and Motorcycles.

It is a temp. fix but it will get the finger nail marks off the hood in time for your next date.

Just be careful,
Rog

if you have a factory paint job you do have to be alot more carefull about going threw the clear but if your truck has ever been re-painted you really don't have to be worried about it. but the factory finnishes are alot thinner so i you will have to be carefull. i personaly dont like collored waxes unless you want to re-do it after washing your car 2ce
