I saw your reply on a different message board that said you used a 351M bellhousing on a 460 with 390 flywheel. I have a 460 with a 351M bellhousing, a 360 flywheel and a T-18 from the 360. I need to find a pressure plate that will fit in the bellhousing. If you know of a 12 inch that would fit or if your could tell me what you used your info would be greatly appreciated.
Also where did you get the 1/4 inch spacer you used between the bell and the block? This engine is going into an International pickup and will be used it truck pulls occationally and a 12 inch clutch is what i'd really like to find.

 

Hi there i hear you are looking for me.???? well the clutch i'm using is the stock 360/390 cid ,the dia. I belive is 11" but you could always up grade to a performance clutch,for your needs ,.also i not sure but dont think a 12" fly wheel will work in that bell housing its to wide and i don't think a 12' disc will also work on a 360/390cid fly wheel??.the spacer that was with the bell housing when i got it from my budies scrap yard and it was home made as far as i could tell,the thickness i'm not sure if it's right or why it's needed .but i put it on my truck and i had no problems with my clutch when i had the engine in my 69 swb 4x4.

I just used 2 spacers- got at least 3/16" if not a quarter inch. Don't remember exactly, but the flywheel teeth and starter still work fine. I put a 460 in a '64 4x4 about 8 years ago. just retired the 460, putting in a 351M right now.
