ifs to leaf springs
well, i gotta get a new engine first, so this may not happen for a while, if at all, BUT, is it possible to change my 87 f150's IFS to leaf springs? what is involved? from what i understand, there is a big difference in off road performance. would the parts and labor be worth the off road performance?

If you're looking for off-road performance, stick with the coil springs. I participate in hardcore off-roading regularly in a leaf-sprung Jeep (shhh). It is agreed my most guys on the trails that coils are far superior. Jeep has recently switched from leafs to 4 coils in the new Wranglers(and all the other Jeeps too I think), and most people agree that it's the best thing they've done in a long time. Now you see many aftermarket companies selling kits to convert the older jeeps from leaf to coil springs. I've seen them in action, they work! As far as I can tell, the only benefit to converting to leafs is for strength, but unless you plan on thrashing the @#$@ out of your truck, the TTB/coil setup is plenty strong. Just my opinion.
If you are set on doing the swap, it should be fairly simple by using F-250 or 350 parts.
Oh, just to clear my name, I own an F-150 (my third one) that pulls the lazy Jeep to the trails.
