I have a PRC aluminum radiator in mine. Runs real cool and will sit and idle for a long time with no problem. I have a sbc 350 in it.

I am doing the same thing and have ask the same question. You can use the search feature and find lots of past threads on rads. But what most everyone said and I have checked in the rad books, is a rad from a mid 70 dodge pick-up is almost a perfect fit.The only proplem is on the 5.0L the lower rad hose is on the left side of the engine. The hose on this rad is on the right side.I have not seen one of these rads up close yet to see if the tube can be moved to the other side of the rad tank. But what I have found is if you get a water pump from a older 302 it will fit with some small bracket changes and the hose is now on the right side. But then the pulleys are to close together. I was going to fix this proplem by using a under drive pulley setup.Spectra is the rad manufacture I was looking at. Part Nuumber CU512 or CU511

retro fitting / recoring is an expensive alternative as i am finding out . my 53 needs a new radiator or a recore , and obviously i wanna upgrade to give the flatty all the help i can . my recore is gonna run 'tween 5-600 bucks and i think my top tank is getting thin in the skin as it has popped another seem . as far as new for me with a flatty well ........ i think i'm gonna be going with the one mid fifties sells as it just sounds and appears to be a lil' better unit than the oe replacement npd has . yeah i could go with an aftermarket aluminum one like you guys but i wanna keep the kinda beat up work truck look she has , and a shiny radiator would lead me to shining up other things , then more ..........

I used a radiator out of a 79 Ford Bronco. Inlet is top right and outlet is lower left. I made the surround and had to trim the radiator housing for a great fit. I have pics in my gallery.
