Just saw this on the news. Ford F series pickups most stolen vehicle in BC. ICBC will supply all F150, 250 and 350 owners with free electronic immobilizes. Installation included.

Betcha if you don't get one put in your rates go up.

I'd love one for my '76 F250 also. My truck is on an isolated island, so I wonder if they will just give me the kit???

Well I stopped in to ICBC this morning to see what the scoop was. Turns out it is only being done in the lower mainland. There goes my free stuff.

Their rates in the area that they pay already more than covers something like this, so its not really free. It is amazing how many of the owners think that they have an immobilizer or alarm with the remote unlock, and for some reason Ford left out the pats system on these trucks

I read that it only affects the 2000-2006 models.

Because nobody would ever steal a 1999 F-350 as they are such different trucks.

Also, the article says there are an estimated 2200 trucks affected... I suspect it's just the F-250/F-350 and not the F-150 (which I think already has a PATS or something).

You could be correct. I kind of lost intrest when they said I couldn't have one. As for not stealing a 99, a couple years ago my F250 left my backyard about 2:15 am and I wasn't driving it!! I guess 99's just aren't important.

The little cute rotty weighs in at almost 80 lbs now. She will be 10 months old on Oct 30. She is very nice when she is sleeping. When she is awake it is 100 mph. She does have a great personality though.
