Help - Lost in a sea of covers for my F350
on my 2004 F350, I have a bed liner ( ford) but need a good quality Tonneau cover
I need the kind that folds or comes off easy, so I can get to the 5th wheel ball when I am towing.
needs to be waterproof, dont care if its hard or soft, just reliable and easy to use
Any real life experiences one would like to share

I personally like the Undercover brand covers myself the best. It is a hard cover that you can stand on, has lifts, locks, and a light. I can take the one on my Sport Trac of by myself easily, but I would imagine one for a 350 would require two people to (might be done with one, just easier with two). There are some other good covers out there, but Undercover has been the best looking and most functionable one I've had yet without getting into the higher priced fiberglass covers.

Undercover is the only hard top I like.
First off, not even submarines are water proof, just water resistant. I never got into folding covers, but I did sell a couple of the aluminum ones from Advanced Covers, the Original Torza and I played with an extang. The Extang was a better thought out cover, it had rear spring loaded clamps to make it more convenient to open.
Other ones to look at that I liked and sold, Truxedo, Pace Edwards, Roll-N-Loc, and Extang. I love Pace Edwards Bedlocker, but I wouldn't mind the full metal jackrabbit. Truxedo has a couple of models, I prefer their roll up for fit, finish and materials.

Has Torza revised their latching system from the original? Their cams and hooks were a pain in the early days, I had to flip the cam and then unscrew the hook to get it clear if I had it down tight. Then I think Extang started with the spring loaded rear hooks and that made the hook style much easier to live with. I know they came out with a lot of new versions but I haven't had the opportunity to play with them.

I have and I think Truxedo's look better. I saw an access over the weekend and it was a little cleaner, but the tarps corners still were not as neat as truxedos. I also prefered the spring loaded piston in the truxedo too.
It's not a bad cover, and when I selling both, the access was a little more expensive. So for spending less money and getting nicer hardware/sewing I always went with Truxedo.

IMHO you get what you pay for.
We had a salesman come through and set us up to sell Truxedos but after looking at a couple we installed I tend to view them as Access Cover "wannabees", more focus on price than quality. In fact, that was the rep's primary selling point ... the dealership could make a better profit selling a cheaper product.
I sold a lot of Access Covers, no Truxedos that I can remember.
One piece fibreglass hard covers are a curse. A CURSE!!!
I have an Access cover on Clyde.

As a Ford Truck salesman for almost 11 years I sold both also.
IMHO you get what you pay for.

I have a Undercover on mine. LOVE IT. The new models have a bracket that bolts to the inside of the bed. Once the cover is on, you turn the ***** on the screw, that attaches it to the bracket on the truck. When you are ready to take it off, just unscrew the two *****, slide it back a few inches and lift it off. The whole thing only weighs like 58 pounds.Once you lift it off you hang it on the wall in the garage (on brackets that came with the cover. Here are a few pics:
here is one on the truck:
here is one of the bracket with the **** you screw on and off:
here is one of it on the truck, open. you can see the lift supports that hold it up:
