Sway bar

I have been working on the front sway bar of my '79 F250. I have discovered that it is bent or appears to be. Can anyone tell me if the bar should be fairly level, and should it parallel the front axle at the areas where the bushing perches are? Should the bushing bracket be turned in any special way or should they be square to the axle as well? Please any help wil be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

David, I have my Ford Factory Shop Manual, 1978, open to a drawing of an F-250 front suspension, and I'll just bet you there's no difference through 1979.
That sway bar looks to have more bends in it than a fishin' worm. Starting at the driver's side, the "bushing bracket" anchors to the frame, and the sway bar immediately bends around the diff, then continues across the chassis parallel to the axle and probably a couple inches below it. There could be a 15-degree offset just before the bar enters the passenger-side bushing bracket, which appears to be U-bolted to the axle, behind it, and pointed downward at a 45-degree angle. The bar then does a 90 exiting that bracket and terminates in an end link.
Boy, I'm confused, now.
