A wiring diagram is valuable for me
I'm an old electrician of 35 years. A wiring diagram can instantly identify any wire. Some diagrams also show wire routing. I have lots of testers, voltage lites, and flashers, but nothing beats a factory diagram. Some times there is a circuit that is not used on a vehicle. I some times use those wires for other purposes. I use lots of Bosch type cube relays as well as aircraft manual reset breakers. Frank

I have seen a lot of different wiring diagrams for the older vehicles.
All of them show where the wire comes from and goes to, but I have never seen one that showed the route it takes to get there.
Also none of them show where the components are actually located.
I am a master electrician as well.

Hey Dave Please help
I have been rewiring my head lite switch. I have been trying to discover where the wires connected to the switch are going. Using a jumper, I have discovered the park lites, head lites and dash lites. There are 8 connections plus a very large maybe #10 supply wire with 12volt. Any hints and colors of same of conductors is appreciated. Frank

I actually tapped into my light circuit out under the master cylinder.
On my 86,
light brown for park lights
Solid red was low beam
Solid green was high beam
I know a lot of the colors changed on the 87 model though.
PS if you tap in under the dash, ....wait your dimmer switch is in the steering column isn't it.
Mine is on the floor, I had to go outside to get the low high beam after the floor mounted switch.
