1996 ford f150 squeakin problem
Howdy yall this is my first post on this forum and i hope yall can help me. I have a 1996 F150 4x4 that when you are driving it at speeds of 10 mph and above it makes a high pitched squeak that doesnt change in loudness with speed, applying the brakes, or turnin the wheel back and forth. i checked the wheel bearings and there is no play in them and they are full of grease, ive changed the brake calipers, hoses, and pads both sides. i have also greased everything that i can and it just wont go away. Even mechanics in my town cant really figure it out without tearin everything apart or so they say i think they just want to make a lil extra money. To describe the noise to the best i can it is a high pitched squeak that sounds like it is in the front end. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'd bet it's the inner "dust" wheel seal. It was only used on 95-96 F-150 4x4's. I had this same loud annoying noise start right after I repacked my wheel bearings and replaced wheel seals. Jack up the front and spin each tire by hand and you'll probably hear the noise on one or both sides.
I solved mine by simply better lubing the dust seal and the metal portion of the wheel seal where the dust seal rides. Make sure you use good high quality seals too--I used Motorcraft and they were actually the cheapest of any!
