Thanks for the effort, Ed. I'm used to IFS trucks you see and, while the SDs setup don't need one nearly as much as them, the front axle and steering arms still feel and look kind of naked and I treat my rigs rough.

Was it the TrailReady Skid plates, they made them for the F250.

I suppose that's because they only sell them to governement agencies, so screw the taxpayer. Gov't will pay whatever we ask.

Now that I have had the opportunity to pick myself up off the floor, all I can say is WOW...

After looking at the TrailReady catalog that semperstrokin (nice find

) posted, I am 99% confident that they are the supplier to Ford for the skid plates for the "special" trucks. I knew that TrailReady supplies the SORP bumper to Ford, but I never was able to find the skid plates. I see that they have the front skid plate for the factory and TrailReady bumper and it looks correct. The rocker protection is definately correct. The drivetrain skid plate (Ford calls it a Transmission skid plate) looks right too, except the '08 one (from what I have seen) has the holes just like the front plate...

it looks like some type of kit, with all skid plates. waiting for a more definitive answer from Ford. if I get one.

But, dam!

I tried to look it up in catalog, still nothing there.

Well I know the number I provided you was just for the front plate. The trans plate and rocker protection have their own separate numbers, so I am not sure...
