Exclamation 6.4 off to a bad start

Wife decided she needed a second truck (Has a 2002 Silverado LT) to tow a travel trailer she just bought. So three months ago she bought a 2008 F-250 Lariet 6.4 with every option except a bedliner. At 2100 miles lost power and wouldn't even tow a 20' boat. During the next four weeks while at the dealer, here is what they said was wrong in order: bad fuel filters at $120 bucks out of my pocket(replaced with no change in performance), bad injectors, bad rocker arm cap, bad high pressure oil pump, then they said bad fuel pump. Wife picked it up last saturday and put 28 miles on it (now driving her Silverado instead). She said she doesn't trust it. I don't know for sure what was replaced since their computer was "down" and they were going to mail the repair ticket. I'd go visit them but I'm out of the country. Just had to vent but would be interested in comments ................

Follow-ups

Why did pay??? dealership claimed "filters are not covered". I'm trying to get in contact with the dealership GM, but no luck yet. As for fuel the only fuel source for the truck other than the first tank has been from the same friendly Exxon station that sells a lot of diesel.

Some places believe it or not still have the Low Sulfur Diesel decals. Ran into that up near Kannapolis, NC a couple months ago. Just thought i would throw that out there as an idea

Don't common rail diesels not have HPOP's?

I was wondering about that myself. I was waiting on someone with the answer to reply. I thought the purpose of the high pressure oil pump was to fire the HEUI injectors on the 6.0 and 7.3 engines.

You are right. These trucks now have high pressure fuel pumps.

The poster thinks, "My wife..." lends more credibility than, "I have this friend"...? I don't think so.

It was a drive by posting from a Duramax owner...

Doubt's

I get the impression that a couple folks don't feel that my post was factual. Let me assure you that it was!. If you would like photos of my wife's two trucks that can be accomplished. Dealership: Friendly Ford, Crosby Texas. they are the ones that said the high pressure oil pump was bad, their service writer is named Brian he called with that info. I haven't gone to the dealership myself because I work for Exxon Neftigas in Yuzhno Sakhalinski Russia and I'm not going to be home till November 16th.
