Under floor power brake bracket needed
I need a frame mount brake bracket for my 54 F-100. I bought one with the master and booster (so I dont need them) but it does not fit my frame. my truck is missing the original brake pedal and original master mounting assembly. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Does the bracket mount to the frame or to the old master mount? I don't have the old master mount. All I have is my bare frame and a hole in the floor by the column for the pedal to come up through. The current bracket that came with the kit has the pedal way to close to the steering column, and this kit was made for this application and was supposed to mount right to the frame!

I'm not too familiar with the under the floor brackets on Effies but having dealt with under the floor master cylinders in the past on other vehicles I much prefer a firewall mount master cylinder. Since apparently you have nothing to bolt the kit to perhaps you should consider that. It's a lot easier...and cheaper!

What bracket do you need not enough info you want power or just, the standard set-up? If you go power put it out on the fire wall. Speedway motors sells a new bracket that mounts from your dash to the fire wall. It uses the holes from your steering collumn mount bracket, you just have to drill holes in the fire wall for your booster. Its very sturdy and you can move it sideways to clear the steering collumn. there are some pics in my gallery!

hello,
yes midfifty does have a few brake bracket options
one is a wed on bracket kit for $149
Use this kit ONLY if you need to relocate the
pedal arm or if the truck is missing frame or arm pieces. Locate the pedal to
Left or Right for better clearance. Requires Valves.
And another is a power brake boost bracket kit for $119
D-I-Y bolt on kit uses the 850-PSI, 6” x 7” 1974-’90 Corvette 1” dual Master cylinders. Simple installation. With clutch use Clutch Bracket & Shaft conversion
and of coarse full kits with the pedal and master cylinder etc.

I defiantly want to keep it in the stock location for the "stock appearance" also looking for a bolt on product but I am missing all stock parts from the original set up.. It is going to be power under the floor with disc in the front and drums out back. I bought a kit so I do have a booster and master for a under the floor kit. The mount just wont fit right and the company wants to hear nothing about it.

You can order the orginal pieces from Mid or CPP and others. One problem with under the floor your hole will not line up to fill you master cyl. You will either use a remote fill or have to cut a new hole. Your master mounts to the old master bracket in the same location but it will throw the master fill back 4-6" from where the fill hole in the floor is. I put mine under the floor and I like it there. I didn't do anything about the hole and it was a B____ putting fluid in the first problem I had. I say how many times have you ever had to fill it anyway. Not worth all the fuss. Put a hose on the bottle and squeeze. It is a tight fit to get the lid back on.
