can I run aftermarket wheels?
I have a 04 s-crew fx4 with a 2.5" leveling kit and 315/70-17 BFG's on stock wheels. I have done some searching on here but haven't found very many people running my set-up. I'm wanting to get aftermarket wheel but I'm not sure what will or wont rub my bumper and back side of the fender lip when turning. I'm looking at 17x8's or 17x9's. Can you guys share a little info on this issue? Thanks in advance!

17x9 or wider. 17x8 is way to narrow for a 315 width tire. I would actually look at a 17x10 width rim personally. this will make the tire wider and give the tread more surface area contact with the road.
the rubbing will be dependant on backspacing. there is no absolute. it depends on the tire itself that you have, tire size, rim width, rim backspacing...lift kit? leveling kit?
there are alot of factors to rubbing. Get a good local shop to test fit and go from there. Good luck

Find an off-road shop around you, I can almost guarantee they have dealt with this before and can help you out. I did learn this when I got my rims, with the way the front tires turn on the newer fords you need quiet a bit of back spacing or they will rub. I am running 325/70/17 on 17x9 rims with no big issues, as far as rubbing goes, the catch to that is the truck has a 6in lift
