Body swap

I am trying to figure out which model of truck I can use to switch the frame out from my 1958 Ford F-100 Short box Style Side so I can get newer suspension? Can anyone out there give me any suggestions or tell me if this can be done and how hard it is?

Talking

This question brings up alot of heated emotions on here, but I have done several frame swaps successfully and I prefer the Dodge Dakota frames. The mid '80s ones had 5 lug bolt pattern and is the same pattern as Ford wheels. The wheel track is the same and the wheelbase can be easily modified. The biggest drawback on the Dakota's is the rearend's are JUNK. So you'd need to change the rear to a 9" Ford or an 8.8"

Keep us posted, and WELCOME here!!

why not just add a clip as you have a 9" already?

The moderator for this site should sticky post a link to the search results for frame swaps. This question has been brought up so many time before that the people who are adamantly against the swap don't even comment any more. I think anyone thinking about doing it should be well informed before jumping into it.
