River clean up, Clinton River, Sterling Heights, MI
Dont know how well this link will work, but Saturday I will be in the river pulling garbage from 9 am until 5, then again on Sunday, come on out and play if you like
The park is located off of Riverland Drive in Sterling Heights. Riverland drive is the first trafic light South of Hall rd on Vandyke, or first traffic light North of Utica Rd on Vandyke. Turn East, head about a half mile over the bridge, turn right inot the parking lot, follow the parking lot all the way to the back.

Wow, what a blast, you never realize how old or out of shape you are until you go in and do something like this. We spent 2 week ends on this, I have never handled a 36" chainsaw for that long in my life, damn thing gets heavy after a while. I also got to bury a sky jack..that wasnt as hard as you might have thought, all you need to do is be close to the river bed, and let the sand do the rest.
he does it every year. I encourage everyone to go do this in 2009 if they can.

I have to ask 08.. you say you grew up in the area? And you are less then a minute from the park.. what are you close to Dresden there.. back off of Erdman.. SInce the age of 5 I have lived in the area.. I was on Hensly from 72 to 78. Then we moved accross Hall road and I lived there up to when I graduated in 86..I now live off of Saal, between Clinton River and 19.
As William said, we do this every year. It is normally done in Oct because it is the hope that it will be chilly enough not to have the mosqitoes there..

Good idea to wait till Oct, Those mosquitoes are a real pain!
Last summer we went over to Yates cider mill walked back into the trail a bit and let the dog and the kids splash in the shallow spot of the river, their was a nasty smell. come to find out the mosquitoes were infecting the deer and they were coming to the river and dying.
There were 12 deer found dead in total North of there..I didnt realize they came to blame the mosquitoes for that..

Yea my brother actually found it online in the macomb daily or one of those papers. The scientist claimed it will not infect humans.
I am in the middle of Kidley pretty much. Maybe a house or two closer to clinton river.
I am not sure I am aware of that company.. not saying I have never seen it.. it just doenst ring a bell right now..I am guessing most of the people I know were going by the time you were hanging out there.. maybe 1, a friend of mines younger sister, last name sacky.. It has been a while. I dont even remember her name.. I knew her sisters and brothers. After that, You may know my sister in law, her last name was farrell.. I know she went to Ford..
