SCRAPIRON1947 is starting off with a positive reputation.
Ford GAC, GAF, ETC

Well, I have found a website that caters to my interests. I read some posts on the old GA series engines, and am wondering if any of you can tell me if any of these engines are still available? I have wanted one(OR a dozen) of them since I was a teenager. I am nearing old status, but am a 19 year old at heart. OK, so what do I want with an old engine like this for? Don't rightly know, just WANT it. I have been facinated with the WW2 era powerplants ,and the torque and horsepower American ingenuity could produce on very short notice. The Allisons, Packard Merlins, Hall-Scotts, etc were engineering and production masterpieces, and did what they did in fine style. They were not perfect, but they carried the mail, and got the job done. If any of you can help point me in the direction of obtaining one of these, I will be forever grateful and might even buy you a cup of coffee. I am just an old Mechanic that loves what I do, and am somewhat versed in heavy trucks, tractors, and stationary applications. I can help with repower, or what makes what work, so if I can help, just holler. Scrapiron
