mystery parts

Hi folks,
A neighbor has told me I can take what I want from a barn he's cleaning out. His uncle worked for a local Ford dealership in the forties and fifties. He collected alot of auto parts and I have been told that I can take whatever I find that might have value. There is alot of stuff, much of it looking like it goes back to the twenties and thirties. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything that I can use in the 53 F-100 I'm working on. But I'm loathe to see any of this stuff thrown into a landfill. So, my question is: how can I identify what all these parts are? I've got radiators, fenders, brake cylinders, fuel filters steering boxes etc. Most of it looking like it goes back 60 or seventy years...maybe more. There are some electical parts that are partly constructed using wood. Is there an online source that would help me figure out what I've got?

How much stuff is there? If it's a somewhat small quantity post some pictures here, I'm sure some of us can help out. If there's numbers on the parts maybe Number Dummy can help out.

Man, don't throw any of it out! You may have a gold mine on your hands. Partly wood sounds like it may be a modelT coil box. Pictures would definitely help.

Alright, time for a garager sale! I need a new horn ring for my 55 Fairlane. Just take it all, and figure out what it is later. Don't let it get thrown away. Jag

I agree, don't let any of it hit the trash can. Chances are like Ax said, you may have a small gold mine in your hands. Take pictures and look for part numbers, I'm certain with all the members on here we can help you figure stuff out.

Take Jag's advice, take it all, sort it out later.

You can probably make yourself a small fortune peddling the parts on ebay.

What a great score! good luck with it
Bobby
