First, make sure all the mounting hardware is there if it's separate from the visor. The Fultons are the most popular and most of those are 49-51 vintage. They are the more Chevron shaped with the "grass hopper" type side mounts. On some, the sides just screw or rivet onto the drip rail like mine. The grass hopper legs brackets screw into the inside back of the windshield stancheon. Those are fine too. Mine was kind of a combo. It is a mid 50s Fulton Deluxe that is flat across the front instead of chevron shaped. They are VERY hard to find. I liked it because it followed the roof line and flat windshield better.
Also, there are visors that are adjustable by removing the top and bottom center panels. They have a combination of predrilled holes that make them adjustable. These are the best to get because 99% of the visors you will be able to buy will be about six inches too wide - and subsequently will have to be cut in the center - there's a post running about how to do that currently.
Some visors are not adjustable. They have much clener lines but in order to get it to fit a Bonus Built, you will have to cut and weld it. The adjustable fultons are aluminum, the non adjustable ford visors (these are 52-54) are usually steel. If you buy a steel visor, ask about rust under the inside of the lower lip.
You should be able to get a nice visor that requires some work (besides the shortening) for about $175 to $300 on e-bay depending on the quality and variety.
At most of the local swap meets and car shows they are up around $400-$600.
I've only seen one that the guy was advertising as NOS for an F1. I'm not sure if it was a Ford product or aftermarket that the dealer might have installed. Maybe Number Dummy would have the gouge on that. It was $1200!!!!.
And, one last thing, you'll have to make a center bracket/support because most of these were made for cars. Early visors hooked onto the center windshield divider. The brackets for the later ones don't go back far enough to mount to the top of the truck.

NumberDummy sez some of these visors have been reproduced.
I have a pal that sells them (mostly to the "Low Rider" crowd) at SoCal swap meets.
Can't help with original part numbers, as they were only listed in the accessory catalogs. I have none until 1965.
Buying a visor on fleabay and swap meets, etc. Don't believe diddly what the sellers sez it fits.
You better...measure....measure.....measure, because the Fulton Sun Shield Co. (for example), sold these visors for every car & truck back then from the 1930's thru the early 1960's.
I used to sell these visors at swap meets, and I knew what they fit, because I removed them from vehicles in junkyards.
If you're tall, you'll also need a traffic light viewer!
Parts catalog shows the same oil bath aircleaner 1948/56 (F1/F6 & F5/F6 COE) for 239's (FH & OHV) and 272's: 7RT-9600-C.
Never heard of a 289 cid flathead. 289 is prolly a typo, OP meant 239.

His garage is set up like a 1950's Pep Boys store, not only does he have scads of goodies, but all the signs and other advertising crappola to go along with it.
I can't find his phone number, don't recall his ebay user name, but can prolly find it. He lives in Glendora, CA.
I'll P/M you when I find out the info.
