PCM Problems

PCM Problems
I have a 04 250 cc 6.0 with less than 32,000 miles and the PCM has totally crashed twice in the last 2000 miles. I bought the truck about 2 weeks ago had an oasis run and it came back with a bad egr valve at 23,000 mile and a new PCM at 30,000 miles. I questioned the PCM replacement and the service manager told me they had just traded the truck in and it needed a updated flash, during the flash the PCM blanked out so they replaced it. I have put about 1500 miles on it and ran great until Friday when it just quit and would not do any thing. Had it towed to local dealer they said PCM is bad could be 2 weeks to get one in. Has any one had this problem or have any ideas. Dealer told me unless new PCM shows a code they have no way to tell what caused it.

I guess I got really lucky. I bought my truck totalled with front end damage and the PCM had one corner broken off where it ripped a mounting bolt off of it. The pcb looked fine so I JB Welded it back on and its never had a problem. I've heard of others having PCM problems, but having them this frequently makes me think there is another cause, possibly batteries starting to go and the alternator overvolting the PCM???

Cartmanea, thanks for the info, I called the dealer late this afternoon and they haven't done anything. The service manager said they may try to reflash before they ordered another PCM but they have no idea what might have caused this. The 6.0 is all new to me I have said for years that I would not own one but it was time for another truck and could not turn the price down. The truck that i am still driving is an 03 with 7.3 280,000 miles original turbo and transmission! Thanks for any info.
