mis matches U-joints...
This is referring to my ZF conversion.
I have been told that the yolks on the zf are the same as the T-19...well they aren't, the retainers on the ZF are different than the originals. If I use the ones that came with the ZF, there is about a 1/8" gap between the cap and the retainer. But the old U-bolt style retainer that came on the old truck are too narrow to fit in the ZF yolk.
So....what can I do?
Are the driveshafts the same between a '85 and a '90? if so can I just get a U-joint for a '90 F-350?
If not, will I be able to switch the yolks from the T-19 to the ZF?
If neither of those will work, please tell me what will work or I'm going to loose it! ......Really, I will
Sorry for the long post, just trying to be as descriptivbe as possible.
Thanks

So take the U joint you have in your driveshaft, and the measurments you need for the ZF 5 down to the parts store.
Have them look up the U joint for a 90 F350 and compare your joint to that one.
I have never looked at what would be required on a two wheel drive swap, all the ones I have ever seen were in 4x4 trucks.
