Lightbulb Pinion Torque

Hi I need to know the pinion torque speq on 05 F-150 rear end to replace the pinion seal anybody know what it's? thank you.

There really is no torque spec. for that nut. You need to measure pinion bearing preload by noting how much force is needed to rotate the pinion gear. You would need to tighten the nut and measure the preload. I personally do it by feel. Rotate the pinion by hand before you remove the nut and flange and try to get back to the same feeling after assembly. Or you can do it w/ a lb.- in. torque wrench as per the manual. A 8.8" is 13- 26 lb.- in. And 8.8 & 10.25" diffs are 16-29 lb.-in.

if you've already pulled that nut off your in for a bit more work than you expected.....you'll have to pull down the entire axle....including pulling the carrier out to do this properly.
