TCI front end, or Gonefising....that is the question

Hi Fella's,
so which one do you guys recommend?
One is cheaper then the other, but that isn't always a good thing.
Pros and cons on both?
Thanks in advance............

Dean

Hi Dean,
I am also looking to buy a front suspension so kina know where you are at. This is what I have found out so far, (all discloures included... just don’t sue me anyone) Not sure but I think that the Dakota in kit form is more money then Mustang II and a used Dakota is weld/cut, been there, not this time. Gone fishing is a dealer, not a manufacture and I think he sells both Heidts and TCI and as mentioned on here before, with not a very good feedback score and the eBay $ 200.00 proection should be a tip off. I am/was planning on going with the Heidts econo kit from JPL with stamped A-arms as it is cheaper as you say then the TCI. I said “was” because a listing came on eBay for a TCI kit for 48-52 f1 (what year is your truck?) at a good price (cheaper then Heidts) but no dropped spindles, called the guy and he would NOT ship by my carrier! Tell him the guy from Canada sent you. Ray.

TCI Chassis 48 49 50 51 52 Ford Truck F-1 1948 1952 IFS - (eBay.ca item 320301812485 end time 19-Oct-08 18:25:43 EDT)

Hey Ray,
Thanks for the info.
Mine is a 56 F 100, and it seems your guy doesn't have anything for it.
That said, I DO appreciate your help!!
I think I will look around a little longer before I make up my mind, BUT, I do believe I will end up with a TCI unit.

I know the gonefishing is cheaper, but heck, a few bucks more now, will save a lot of trouble down the road.

You might also want to look at Speedway, they have several kits that they offer and is likely to be less money for the same thing from one of the "dealers" who sell TCI, Heidts, etc and wants to make money off of you. Your other option is to buy direct from one of the manufacturers but sometimes their not any cheaper.
