Does anyone know where to get a new grill guard for one of thes trucks?

I am looking to purchase a new grill/brush guard for a couple of the '73-'79 body style Fords. JC whitney used to have them 6-7 years ago. The most common where the flat iron frame and uprights with expanded metal between the headlights. Any help or contacts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I plan to order one from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard soon. JBG has the classic style that you're looking for, and that I like too. They have them in black and in chrome. If I remember correctly they're only around $150 ...not too bad imo.

JBG is a sponsor of this site, so you can find a link on the left side of the page.

Edit: Here 'ya go. I found a link.

I looked on their web page and found the push bar type for $150. I requested a catalog so maybe I can find something in there. Thanks

the new one costs way to much, but try to find a original one first, ya can get a better price, plus it will be better built, thicker steel then the new one. it says on there site for early broncos, but our trucks had a similar one, for sure.

How long ago did you buy it? Thanks for the image. Yours is one piece welded unit. The new unit Bronco Graveyard lists is a bolt together unit with two uprights and two cross tubes. Do they have used parts that might work? Thanks

Here's what I have

I got it here Rocky Mountain Suspension Products, suspension lift kits, body lifts & accessories but I don't see it on their site anymore? The brand is Wildcat Flash.

Mine comes up hhood-high and as wide as the truck, with a slight forward lean to it beginning about headlight height 2" stainless steel pipe bent to work and look good

78F-250Lariat i have not seen the jeffs bronco grave yard catus smasher push bar, only a picture of one, and it looks like its a welded together, i love mine, its so sweet looking in silver, the black was stock, they where a original option for our trucks, try to get a hold of number dummy he would no even the part number, cause he was a parts man for many years, all i know is the different after market push bars look fine but my taste is a more vintage original push bar that ford put on there plus it has dual mounts that bolt right to the frame and it uses the same bolts as the bumper so its a flash to install and its as solid as the bumper is, and they look really good with two off road lights, mounted to them

i think that you got confused little the new one bolts to the bumper like the old one did, and the new one is welded together, ask bronco graveyard if it will fit our trucks, and if the tell ya it won't get the dimensions and make sure it won't fit, cause some people are idiots on the phone and don't know if it will work or not, and the unit is a simple install the four bumper bolts go through the push bar mounts which have holes then into your bumper and through the frame, and bolt it together like any bumper, search eBay for a old one, or locally for a ford parts guru like i did and found gold, i will post pictures this Friday of the newly paint cactus smasher push bar, lol now i have a name for it when people ask about it, plus it really fits the style of out trucks to a tee, and there is no mods simple Simon good luck with your project

Lariat,

You might look in my gallery. I pulled one off my '79 that I don't want. I'd be willing to part with it, if it will fit your needs. BTW, I'm in the Oklahoma City area.
