Electronic Brake Control
What is the proper way to find the wiring to hook up an electronic brake controller such as the tekonsha voyager on an 1998 expedition that has the factory installed class 3 trailer hitch?
I am no sure when I am under the dash what I should be looking for!
I want to hook up the battery to properly charge unless this is factory default.
Most important also is the brake controller!
I am leaving in 3 days need help now please!

If you have the 7 pin socket on the back of the truck, the 12 volts is already hooked up. About the under dash, look for a 6 pin rectangular connector, about center under the dash. Only 5 pins are used. If its like an F-150 etc., the wires will be Dark Blue, Light Green, Red, White, Brown. Need cable that plugs into that connector, should have come with truck when bought. These wires all go to the brake controller of your choice.

Torky I found your reply on electronic brake controller hookup I just bought a 2001 f150xl extended cab with a 4.6 I have the controller out of my old 93 f150 a K/H it says to make the power hookup right to the battery I found the plug that you referred to, do you know what color is the brake switch wire is ? Also the truck has a one loop finned cooler out front am I wrong or are these lines going to the power steering unit not a tranny cooler I also have a battery isolator would it be ok to install on this truck to charge the camper battery The truck came with a 4 pin flat plug but not a tow package.
