4Wheel drive spooled turbo launch?

I am thinking about racing some cocky *** kids in my school with my Stock F-250 and i was wondering if you could get a good launch out of the truck by spooling the turbo and clicking it to 4X4 High? Will the truck start power hopping or will it launch better?
Thank you for your replies.

Will launch much better. Build up to about 20lbs of boost. Definately make sure you are in 4high. About half way down the track, unlock. No mods yet? Hopefully you have some gauges to see how much you are boosting.

No need to unlock it, it won't disengage until you are actually out of the throttle anyway. I run mine all the time at the track in 4 high. I launch mine at about 2500rpms and it has yet to miss a beat. You'll be fine and get a great launch out of it

I'm sure i could convince my Dad to let me put gauges on his truck, by saying "If you have a problem with your truck the people on FTE could help diagnose the problem better if you know the boost pressure, tranny temps, and EGTs" goal is to show some cocky *** kids at school what a diesel can do.

Make sure it's engaged before you launch. I've put mine in neutral and back just to make sure it's ready. Mine was a dodge, but the same idea applies. Every traction advantage helps in a pickup!

I got ESOF on my truck. the only camaro there is an 80's camaro with no modsthe most powerful vehicle at my school is probbably a newer dodge ram 1500 with a 5.7L hemi. But if I launch with turbo spooled and 4X4 engaged I won't start power hopping or break something, Right?

No guarantees!!

Any time you wind one of these trucks up and launch it theres a chance you could break something.

But you would probably be OK.

Whats the percent chance(estimated)that something breaks. I don't want to turbo lanch it in 4X4 and break something and then explain to my Dad why his truck is broken.

Probably in direct proportion to how mad your Dad would get if it broke.

I think the only percentage that one could count on would be 0% of something breaking chance if you don't do it.

I've been through about 10 races, NHRDA, and have not yet broke anything. Then again, two different trucks.

Every truck is different but these things can truly take a beating, more so than any chevy or dodge I've ever seen. They are just so well built, they are actually overbuilt for what they are rated for and such. Oh and the ESOF is ok if you use light launches with it, it'll disengage itself if you try to launch hard. If you have the manual hubs also, lock em in and then bring it off around 2000rpms, it'll be fine.
