c'mon ppl, were are talking about a stock ford taurus give the 7.3 more credit than that, its a ford taurus, the kid will hit half way through second and run out of grunt, while the 7.3 will be pullin away, id make the race intresting, 2wd, roll some tire smoke, while your doin this he will get a car or 2 lengths ahead and when your truck grabs alls hes goin to see is F.250 rocketing past him, trust me here

Well, while everyone is in the spirit and talking about highschool racers and more importantly a stock 7.3. I would like to share with you all that the other day after school I raced a kid in his stock 7.3 with my roushcharged 150.... and beat the **** out of him. LOL but anyways i just figured I would throw that out there because I have been watching this thread from way up there at the roush, L, and saleen hangout.

How do you keep a turbo spooled without launch control? Even with an automatic power braking at 2500rpm, turbo spools for a second and then falls back down with no real load on the motor, right? I'm confused. I have a 500awhp Subaru that I launch at 6k rpm, and if I don't use launch control (which pulls ignition so the fuel is ignited in the exhaust which then spins the turbo), I can't leave in boost.

On a side note, I don't really see the point in racing a truck like that unless it was built for speed. I have seen some very respectable black mushroom cloud leaving desiels. But in the end, they only end up "fast for what they are" and hardly even a race for a modern bone stock sports coupe/sedan or even a nice SUV for that matter.
