Tranny/T-case slam

So I have had my truck 2 weeks and i have noticed that if i get on the gas from 30-40 it reves and BAM slams like a SOB and also if i'm at 65-70 on highway and go to pass someone same thing... those are the only 2 speeds i have tried it at. The dealer told me its because the tranny is confused whether it should be in D or OD. I'm scared to even get on the gas? Anyone ever deal with this? i have 800 miles left on warr from dealer and am buying the Ford ESP warranty.
Any insight on this?
thanks
Gary

What year is the truck? I'd ask the dealer for a PCM flash, which usually gets rid of the problem. Ford warranty's are a rip....

I flat out told him no matter how hard you step on the gas or when it should never slam. I mean it slams as if you are hooked up to a chain @30mph and come to the end... I mean i have gone through trannys in my day and not once have i felt this...

It could be the driveshaft "Slip/bump" problem that's making the noise. There's a TSB on it, has to do with not enough grease on the slip-yoke.

That's what was causing noise on mine, I followed the TSB and it's gone now.

Yes, mine was intermitent

Here's the TSB:

Driveline - Slip-Bump on Deceleration or Acceleration
TSB 05-26-11
12/31/05
DRIVESHAFT SLIP - BUMP ON DECELERATION OR
ACCELERATION FROM A STOP
FORD:
2004-2005 F-150
LINCOLN:
2006 Mark LT
ISSUE
Some 4x4 2004-2005 F-150 (excluding Heritage) and 2006 Lincoln Mark LT vehicles build prior to 7/1/2005 may exhibit a rear driveshaft slip-bump concern on deceleration or acceleration from stops.
ACTION
This condition can be attributable to the slip yoke of the rear driveshaft having not been lubed when the vehicle was built or wear/flaking of the spline nickel coating. Refer to the Service Procedure.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear driveshaft per Workshop Manual Section 205-01. Be sure to index-mark the driveshaft during removal to maintain alignment during reinstallation.

2. Inspect the rear driveshaft slip yoke for the presence of grease. If no grease is present proceed to step "a" If grease is present proceed to step "b".
a. If the splines of the slip yoke are dry, but do not show any signs of wear, nickel coating flaking, or contamination, then apply 8 mL (0.27 oz.) of the new slip yoke grease, distributing it evenly around the bore. If flaking is found, then REPLACE the rear driveshaft.
