I just bought a 95 f350 crewcab long wheel base dually with a 460 and a e4aod( I think).

1st. when I start it it acts like it wants to choke down but it don't but it straitens out within 15 seconds and runs fine. I was thinking fuelfilter?

2nd. when on a chopy dirt road the tranny won't down shift. I can manually shift it down and then back up as I get up to speed and then it shifts fine after that. maybe loose wire?
the shifter cable is not adj. right. the needle does not read what gear it is really in.

3rd. the tranny shift hard almost too hard but I am used to 1/2 trucks so that might be normal.

4th. I bought it today and 1/4 mile from my house I had a blowout witch to out the fender flare. luckly the fender was already broke and the guy had a new one just not put on yet.

the guy told me about all these issues so I knew before hand. it drive good and smooth plenty of power.

 

The trans (E4OD) might have a shift kit in it... does it shift hard in all gears, or just one or two? There is a kickdown cable, that might need adjusted. Or the diaphram in the back of the trans. As far as the needle goes, you have to tear apart the steering column. there is a little itty bitty arm in there with a spring that moves the needle, it is bent.

 

I forgot it has dual tanks and the front tank is full of gas but when I switch to it the truck just dies.
