Gas In Powerstroke!!!

Let a DA drive my F250 the other day and he did me a favor by filling the tank. Must not be able to read but filled it with gas and drove it to the mechanics about 40 miles. We cant get the fuel system to stay primed. They have already bled the high and low pressure system, changed the fuel pump, and it will only run for 20 seconds before getting air in the lines and runs out of fuel. Any helpful diag. would be appreciated, other than shoot the driver. That has been discussed at great length.

We had a customer do the same to his father's truck. We drained the fuel, bled the lines, replaced the fuel filter assy. It took forever to finally start but never had a problem. Not really the answer you were looking for, good luck anyway.

You stated that you bled the fuel system but you did not say that you replaced the filters and o rings. You might also change the o ring on the hfcm drain plug incase the gas has damaged it.

This is not the first time I've heard these horror stories about someone accidently putting gas in a diesel truck. It got me to thinking/worrying about it and I cut a decal to put inside the fuel door that just may help prevent this from happening. I know it couldn't hurt. After reading this post I went out and took a look at the little faded out sticker on the inside of my fuel door that's hardly readable only after 1 year and this is what I came up with... eBay Motors: DIESEL FUEL ONLY Decal Super Duty F250 F350 F450 RED (item 250298340760 end time Oct-21-08 15:07:02 PDT) I don't know if this is legal on FTE, if it's not, I'm sorry I won't do it again.
