I had a voyager with a bad map sensor, would not run at all, I unhooked the map and it ran, was hoping I could find the same result with disconnecting the map here.

I did not run any codes, I do have ford code tester from my taurus (94) will check it out and see if I can get any codes tomorrow.

I'm also wondering if the plugs/timing is messed up. I did replace the dizzy a long time back and have not had it running since, however my brother thoroughly helped me set up the timing/ect, but it could be wrong. I want to say we did actually have it running after that, but my memory is failing me.

PS: the other end of the vacuum hose for the map sensor, where does it connect? Mine is flopping around?

Thanks!

I'll hook it all up tomorrow and try running the codes.. will it tell me if the timing is off/ect ?

No but if you did not pull out the SPOUT and set it with a timing light the timing is off.

The MAP vacuum hose goes to the main vacuum port on the upper intake runners.

Ok, thanks for the info - I'll see if I can find how to hook the map sensor back up completely.

Please let me know what you mean by 'pulling out the spout' ?

Thanks!

The SPOUT (SPark OUTput) shorting bar (jumper) must be removed before you can set base timing on an EEC computer controlled engine.
You must then set the timing with a timing light connected to number one spark plug wire with the engine running.

The SPOUT wire from the computer to the TFI Module tells the TFI Module when to fire the Ignition Coil. If the SPOUT is removed (pulled) then the TFI module will fire the Ignition Coil at base timing (10* BTDC).

I would post a diagram of the location of the SPOUT but I do not know what engine you have.
