Last sunday I went up to he Newton speedway, they do 1/8th mile drag races down pit row (it's a nascar track)
Anyway there is a photographer there, and he of coarse sells his pictures but he has them online to view. I can't directly load the picture but I can give you a link directly to it.
This was my first race of the day, and I have to say a less likely race you will never see.
Of coarse people in this section are used to diesel pickups drag racing but it's still one of those things that is a novelty to most people, so they don't expect to see one on the drag strip... And even less likely is to see one lined up against....
Any guesses???
for those that don't know that my friends is a 2007 Bentley
yep a F250 7.3 powerstroke ford diesel against a twin turbo V8 bentley, not exactly your typical drag race match up
I do have to admit he did beat me, but like I said that is a twin turbo gasser and a lot lighter (and I had him beat clear out to the 330 mark)
That is sweet, but I love the "just for kicks" races they have. Like school bus racing and big rig racing. They are awesome. The school bus thing is absolutely hilarious. You honestly couldn't have a better race than 8 school buses crashing into each other on purpose in the mud and switching from a circuit to a figure 8 race.
Still, Bentley vs. Super Duty. Cool as stayin' in school.
You gunna be there this summer? I sold my fairmont (no racin for me) , but my dads buddy races that FE powered datsun and a 62 galaxie....Might see ya around.
The guy with teh Datsun was there last sunday and said it wasn't going to be running this year but that he hoped to have the 62 there this next weekend.
So as you guessed yes I was there last sunday except I was racing my 67 galaxie I bought last fall and have been rebuilding and getting going over the winter. Plan on being there this coming sunday (yes I know it's mothers day, but my mother is 1800 miles away) and probably be up there on Fri the 22nd also.
