just trying to get an idea before I start calling around...my rear discs are just about gone and between school and work I don't really have the time to work on it myself.

You can probably replace the pads yourself in less time than it does to drive to the dealer and get a work order written up. :-)

From what I heard from people who had their brake serviced at Les Swabs, approx $600. Every service place will not take risks, so they will turn the rotors or replace them, install the pads, and give you a massive bill.

Or you can pay less than $50 for pads and have them installed yourself in less than 1 hour, that is if your rotors aren't scarred to deep.

I have an 04 150 FX4 with 69000 was in for oil change and they said 80% left on front and 40% left in rear. The question is why are they using more rear brake than front?

Might just have something to do with smaller brakes in the rear?

From what I read new design. Better stopping, makes sense to me should be better turning on ice anyway when breaking.
