83 351W intake manifold

Hi. My 1983 F-150 2WD has a 351W and came stock with an aluminum intake manifold with some buggered threads. Could do the standard coil inserts but I recently went to the junkyard and found a nice cast-iron intake from a 351W off a box truck, and it came with a Holley 4B carb. Any negative issues that I should know about concerning replacing a 2-barrel/aluminum combination with a cast iron/Holley combination on a 351W? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks. What was the rationale in going to aluminum intakes? Just weight reduction?

I had a friend to speaks Chinese translate this. It is something about “how to clean a magnetic stripe card reader." No clue why it ended up on this thread.

I have a further question. I looked a little bit more this weekend at the emissions flowchart (vacuum lines, etc) from the 1985 F-350 box truck that I found in the junkyard and from which I lifted the cast iron intake manifold and Holley 4180C. That diagram is significantly different than the diagram on my present 1983 F-150 with aluminum intake and 2B carb. Both fit a 351W engine. So now I need to think a little bit. Any suggestions? For example, the cast iron intake has a temperature-controlled valve sitting right on the coolant port, whereas my stock intake only had a vent plug in that hole. I guess that I have two specific questions:
1) when making that kind of transition, do you essentially attempt to copy the emissions diagram for the truck on which the system will reside, plugging any necessary holes in the process?
2) Can a stock intake for a 2B carb be used (with the appropriate mounting plate) with the 4B carb, or do different carbs require different intakes?

Thanks much.
