are the 93-95 lightning the same, like the engine. did they all use the same engine and tranny or did they come with a manual tranny as well. just trying to figure out wich years of trucks i can pull parts from and wich parts will enterchange.

 

They are the same mechanically: engine, transmission (all were E4ODs) and driveline.

 

yep I think they were very simular. I had a 95 and noticed it had a tube bumper so not sure if that was only available on the 95s. I have a 2000 f150 5.4 extended cab and the 95 lightning seemed to handle much better although the power seems almost the same.

 

The 1st gen Lightnings are all basically the same. They all had the same drivetrain. They were all automatics no manual transmissions. The first ones don't have an air bag or third brake light though. The rear axle is unique to the "L". It has 4.10 gears with traction lock and the housing is a little different. The frame is also unique to the Lightnings. They also have unique springs and other suspension componenets.
