Please help p-132b code NO Power
I hope you guys can help me with this one.
I have a 8/2003 F550 6.0l
It has no power worse when cold, but never even half the power it should have. cold you cant even get it past 20 mph. after you drive it a while it will go 50 mph but takes a while to get there.
No smoke.
Here is what I have checked and tried.
ICP is 650 to 700 at idle
ICP is about 3500 psi under full throttle
fuel pressure is 50 psi
turbo boost pressure is 5lbs when cold under full throttle,
20 psi when hot under full throttle , but it takes a while to get it there.
I had a known good truck one day and tried the following.
Swapped the EGR valve ( No change)
Swapped the VGT control valve, ( no Change )
I sent the turbo off to be checked and they found nothing wrong.
I change the ICP sensor because it was just slightly out of spec, but still no change.
engine seems smooth, just guttless.
It does have a P-132b code, I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.
as I said no smoke or anything. I don't have the ability to send it to the dealer . ( I would like to because I dont' have a WDS to manipulate fuctions like VGT or EGR but I am stuck with it now)
Any help would be appriciated.
Steven

Check out the following TSB. It may or may not be helpful...
6.0L - BUILT ON OR BEFORE 9/29/2003 - DTCS P006A OR P132B - LACKS POWER, SURGE, OR FLUTTER AFTER FIELD SERVICE ACTION 06E17

You could check the throttle plate on the intake and make sure it is not stuck closed for some reason. Also you could check the exhaust back pressure sensor and make sure the tube is not plugged up on the sensor gone bad. If I think of any other things I will post again.

You are correct if your truck had recall 06E17 then the EBP in no longer in use and you would not see a pid. Even though the EBP is in place it is not used. I just mentioned it because you never know. I did not find a P-132B code, have you been able to find it yourself. Have you checked the intercooler and all the tubing for any kind of leaks. Also any funny noise coming from the uppipe to the turbo or smell of exhaust. Let me know what you find.

I would say that this code is directly related to your problem. Thanks PowerStrokeHD.

Hi all
Well I worked on it a little while again today. still no cure found.
I did want to add this symptom.
When driving it, as the engine speed increases to the higher rpm and under full throttle you can hear a high pitch squeal. I first thought it was a leaking cold air pipe or the air charge cooler, but I blocked them off and tested them and they are fine. I didn't find any exhaust leak to cause it either.
I would swear it was coming form the turbo, but as I said before, I had it checked out, and they did a couple repairs on it but they found nothing really wrong.
has anyone had one with a noise like this that was lacking power?

I was just wandering you said they did some repair on the turbo. Did anybody complete a turbo relearn procedure on it after taking the turbo off.

Everything in the truck is stock.
I only had a sister truck to this one for that one day, so no, I cant swap the maf wiht a known good one, but it seems to read smoothly with believable readings.
