We bought another race car last weekend (anyone surprised?), two actually, one for the body and one for parts. Could either be a pro-stock or hobby stock. Anyway, we have been challenged to have the car race ready by tomorrow night. At this point the chassis is a roller with a tranny, and we just got the pistons back from the machine shop yesterday. Getting ready for some marathon wrenching and hope to see everyone on the track at Rattlesnake Raceway tomorrow night!

We plan to race in Lovelock tomorrow if anyone's out that way, pro-stock class, primer grey with orange numbers 21x. Track info can be found here.

We were out there tonight & will be there Saturday night. Vici & I hope to Co-Sponsor a race next season here in Lovelock. We support the Lovelock Speedway. We own 3 blocks in turn 2 outside.
Cool! Hope to see you there. We have a black enclosed trailer pulled by a grey dodge (my ford is retired from towing, don't want to have to replace the tranny again!), if you come down to the pits.
Thanks for the good wishes william_04_x, I'll try to remember to take pictures lol!

We didn't make it to the pits, we didn't get there until around 6:30 pm. We saw Larry race. He needs to come here more often. Lovelock has a great track, but I find most new drivers to the track it takes sometime to get the groove down. At the beginning of the season I thought most of the IMCAs drivers were all rookies. I had never seen drivers have so much trouble at that level. But as the season progressed they figured it out & now put on a good race. Of course the track is coming in the more it gets raced. It will end up being one of the best dirt tracks in Northern Nevada. Lovelock's old dirt track at the fairgrounds was at one time the best in the State. There are some of the key people that built that track working on the new one.
Hope you guys become regulars here next year. Your always welcome.
Well, you saw Larry's car race, Pat was driving both times. It's only his second time in a car. It was our first time to the new track, the track turned out to be much nicer than I'd been told. We were surprised at the omission of hot lap time though. We'll probably be be back next year. If you want to see Larry race, he will be driving both days at the Dirt Track Championship in Fallon the first weekend in October.

It was announced that Larry was driving. So I assumed he was. The last time I went to dirt track races in Fallon was when they raced at the old fair grounds in the 60s. Last Drag Races when they were held at the air base. We & Fallon were Chartered clubs of Division 7 of the NHRA.
You missed the party here last night. But don't feel alone most Nevada members weren't here. So The Nevada Chapter has been taken over by anyone that wants to use it, since you guys aren't using it much.
I know, when 'construction' season is over most of us will probably return.
They got the drivers confused at the last race up here, too. You really haven't been here since then? The tracks are pretty good. I think Top Gun is still a NHRA sanctioned track, we don't go out there much, too may hobbies!

No I haven't been there since then. When I lived in Hawthorne there were a few guys that came to Hawthorne to race regularly because Fallon had a bunch of dirt driving going on a bunch of political crap. One was the High school Shop teacher. This was in the 90s. Top Gun was an IHRA track if it changed I don't know. The Air Strip at NAS Fallon then NAAS Fallon was a santioned NHRA track that was in the 60s.
Here's the new car:
Going for the Dirt Track Championships this weekend, qualifying Saturday at 5:00 and finals Sunday at 1:00 if anyone is out this way..

Thanks! We took 5th out of 20, not bad for a home built car. Beat all the locals anyway!
